
Project Coordinator
Yemesrach has an LL.B in Law from Bahir Dar University and an LL.M in Natural Resources Governance from Mekelle University. She has over 6 years of experience in lecturing and advising/examining, research and consultancy, and environmental advocacy, as an attorney and consultant at law.
Her career began at Mekelle University School of Law. While she was working as a lecturer at the university, she was a co-researcher and author of publications on various research projects that were funded by the Netherlands' Tilburg University, Mekelle University, Mekelle University Environment and Natural Resources Law Center (MU-ENRLC), and the American Embassy. She has also been organizing and coaching international and national moot-court competitions, advising and examining LL.B and LL.M students' theses, and providing legal aid services for disadvantaged groups of society. She has research interests in the areas of enforcement of environmental laws by administrative agencies; public interest litigation for accountability of violators of environmental law; environmental economics; protecting environmental rights to ensure environmental and climate justice; and human rights convention tools to protect the vulnerability of environmental and climate degradation problems.
