Board Vice-chairperson

With a degree in Law and an MA in Gender Studies, Tsinu has been working as a researcher, gender expert, a lawyer and training facilitator with a particular focus on projects promoting gender equality and transformative leadership. Projects she took part in include, GAVI-Girl Effect’s formative qualitative research for HPV vaccination; Gender and Adolescence Global Evidence Program of the Oversees Development Institute; and Pilot study of MoWCY’s nationwide research on Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices.  She was also one of the qualitative researchers in a study jointly funded by UNFPA and DfID, and implemented by GAGE program in June 2020. Tsinu works with Nutrition International as a gender advisor and while managing a feminist social enterprise for almost two years, she oversaw its flagship project - the Meri leadership and mentorship program. Moreover, she has been engaged in different initiatives of UN Women by designing and facilitating trainings on gender and transformative leadership. Currently, Tsinu is working with UN Women Ethiopia Country Office as a national consultant for assessing the gender responsiveness of covid-19 initiatives in Ethiopia.
